ITOC (Inbound Tour Operators Council)

The Inbound Tour Operators Council of New Zealand is a Trade Association representing the New Zealand inbound tourism industry.

ITOC's mission statement is clearly focused on inbound tourism and ITOC is well placed to play a key role within the New Zealand tourism industry.

Its membership includes Inbound Tour Operators (Full Members) and their suppliers (Allied Members).

ITOC has represented the interests of inbound tourism for over thirty years, and today its Full and Allied members collectively handle most of New Zealand's holiday visitor arrivals.

ITOC plays a vital and supportive role in the expansion of New Zealand tourism at the 'sharp end' of our overseas marketing.

Ministry of Tourism

The Ministry of Tourism works to maximise the benefits to New Zealand from the sustainable development of the tourism industry.

The Ministry of Tourism provides tourism policy advice to the Minister of Tourism, work with other government departments on key tourism policy issues and provide tourism research and statistics.

Its work includes advising on and evaluating Government investments in tourism, administering the Tourism Facilities Grants Programme and assisting with major events.

The Ministry of Tourism does not have a direct role in marketing New Zealand. Tourism New Zealand works with Regional Tourism Organisations and individual tourism businesses to market New Zealand as a visitor destination.
